Guest Lectures on Bisexuality, Gender Diversity and Mixed-Orientation Relationships

I have enjoyed sharing what I have learned and because  I myself identify as bigender, gender fluid and bisexual it is easy to integrate concepts of gender, sexual orientation and relationship dynamics with interesting real world examples from my own story and experiences. COVID cemented my retirement from doing guest lectures but for those in the New England area familiar with my work who are  interested in having me speak to your class or conference please contact me at capeflier@gmail.com and we can discuss the possibilty of my doing a volunteer presentation.

*Exploring Variations in Gender Identity and Bisexual Sexual Orientation –

The basic structure of this class is  we use a personal case study as a framework to explore  topics of gender, sexual orientation, living out authentically and variations in relationship styles with an emphasis on breaking away from the binary world of absolutes and either/ ors.. I allow plenty of time for  discussion in a question and answer format with the opportunity for both direct questions and anonymous written questions with the class exploring the topics that interest that specific class the most.

Class Outline

  • Bisexuality as an umbrella sexuality and the many different ways one can be bisexual
  • Gender as it relates to the bisexual's gender identity as well as the gender identity of those bisexuals are attracted to,
  • Sequential and concurrent bisexuality and why the differences matter,
  • Mixed-orientation marriage and relationship dynamics when bisexuals have partners who don’t match their sexuality ,
  • Monogamous or non-monogamous relationship style as a relevant and sometimes challenging dimension to bisexual sexuality,
  • Integrating or splitting bisexual lives,
  • Coming out to ourselves, our partners and our family and friends.

Bisexuals Making Mixed Orientation Marriages and Relationships Fabulous
Mixed orientation marriages and relationships where one partner is bisexual and the other heterosexual often contain complex relationship dynamics. This lecture will review the issues and challenges bisexuals face in our relationships with our partners, family and friends with an emphasis on positive outcomes. Mixed orientation marriages and relationships provide tremendous opportunities for personal happiness and growth when approached with the proper attitudes.

Participants of all sexual orientations will come away with a better understanding of mixed orientation marriages and relationships and the many ways we can make them fabulous relationships.
